All About Chris ConnellyBorn and raised in New York City, the no-nonsense fast pace of that great city got into his blood early. He attributes those experiences to allowing him to thrive during his two decades in the fast paced legal profession. He relished the hustle and bustle of "The City" and the education that comes by living with people of all strata and from all over the world in that dense, hectic environment. He eventually relocated to "The Hamptons" in rural Eastern Long Island where practiced during the early years of his legal career with the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society. That organization provided criminal defense to the indigent people of that wealthy resort area, and there he learned how to stand up for people in the face of small town justice. Realizing the high cost of New York living, he and his wife Bettye decided to move to Charlotte in 1993, undaunted by having neither jobs nor contacts and quitting their jobs in spite of that era's recession. They nonetheless quickly settled in to their new hometown of Charlotte and embraced the lifestyle of The New South, never looking back. Currently, he and Bettye live in downtown Charlotte where he is active in The Friends of Fourth Ward. He chairs the Public Safety Committee where he brings the benefits of his keen knowledge of Charlotte's criminal justice system to his neighbors. Bettye and Chris love travel, having visited many European countries and Western Hemisphere locales. Through his church, Chris participates in their mission to Alto-Cayma, a small impoverished settlement outside of Charlotte's sister city of Arequipa, Peru. They have one Labradoodle named Winston who lives in a state of eternal puppy-hood. Winston is named after Winston Churchill, one of Chris' heroes, who stood as the lone voice against the tyranny of Fascism. Chris' passion is trail riding with his horse Nokomis, a gaited Saddle Horse who exudes pride and gracefulness. Nothing gets Chris more juiced than thundering through the woods and fields while on his mighty Nokomis! With over two decades of experience, Mr. Connelly and his staff are committed handling their clients' cases with quality, excellence and compassion. He has used his role as counselor as an opportunity to make a difference in clients' lives, whether counseling a young person on the need to choose a different path or another to start handling their drug or alcohol problem with a referral to rehabilitation.
