North Carolina men arrested in property crime against Clemson U

Many sports fans know that though some superstitions regarding luck for teams may seem a bit silly, they are still sacred to the players, coaches and fans themselves. Some teams have rituals they carry out, special clothing they wear or important artifacts they may touch for luck. When one of these artifacts is damaged, it can cause great upset among thousands of people associated with the team. Currently, Clemson University is facing such turmoil after one of their iconic pieces was allegedly vandalized, and three North Carolina individuals are currently facing the stressful situation of being accused of a property crime.

Law enforcement officials are often held to a higher standard than most North Carolina citizens. For the head of many departments, it is important that their officers' reputations are above reproach, especially when it comes to criminal activity. However, many departments are willing to wait to pass final judgment on their officers until after the courts have done their job. This was not the case for a deputy who is facing a DWI charge.

North Carolina construction company charged in fraud conspiracy

When a company contracts with the government it is important the company is in compliance with all applicable laws. If a business fails to do this it can find itself in serious criminal troubles. This could result in large fines as well as time behind bars. One North Carolina company seems to have failed to do this when it was recently charged with fraud against the government.

10 arrested in North Carolina fraud ring that targeted seniors

A financial crimes task force recently completed an investigation that resulted in the arrest of ten North Carolina men alleged to be in a fraud ring. The men face over 75 counts related to accusations that they obtained more than $300,000 from senior citizens by offering to perform unnecessary and costly home repairs, only to either not make the repairs or do a poor or incomplete job. The alleged fraud ring targeted seniors throughout central North Carolina.

North Carolina mom faces drunk driving charge and other charges

Parents have a special legal duty to protect their children which the law takes seriously. A driver also has a responsibility to follow the rules of the road, especially refraining from driving while under the influence. Unfortunately for one woman, law enforcement authorities in North Carolina are accusing her of failing to fulfill both of these duties. The woman was recently arrested and now faces a drunk driving charge and a child abuse charge.
