North Carolina couple faces drug charges for manufacturing meth

Two Moore County residents were arrested recently, stemming from a search of their home. The investigating North Carolina police officers claim that the two were operating a methamphetamine laboratory out of their residence. Both individuals face multiple drug charges relating to the alleged meth manufacturing accusations.

Officers from the Moore County Sheriff's Office were supposedly investigating the sale of methamphetamine in the county, and the investigation reportedly led them to suspect the couple. The officers were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence. The report is not entirely clear on the exact evidence or leads that the authorities claimed to have against the couple in order to obtain the warrant.

Once the warrant was executed, the authorities claimed to find a small amount of meth, chemicals supposedly used to make meth, drug paraphernalia and a few oxycodone pills. The two were subsequently arrested on charges that included manufacturing meth, possessing chemicals used to make meth and maintaining a drug house. The bail for the man was set at $250,000, and the bail for the woman was set at $175,000.

As with any case, no matter the evidence that the police claim to have against the accused persons, the accused individuals are innocent until, and only if, proven guilty by sufficient legal evidence presented in a court of law. All individuals accused of drug charges or other crimes in North Carolina have the right to unbiased and fair criminal proceedings. As the case moves forward, the prosecutors will have the burden to prove the couple's charges in court beyond a reasonable doubt and in accordance with the rigid requirements of our justice system.
