North Carolina theft crime: Two teens face several charges

Two teenagers have been accused of a two-day crime spree involving a theft crime. Once police became aware of the boys and their alleged connection to area crimes, the charges against them began to mount. Should they be convicted on any of the multiple charges they face, their futures could be significantly impacted. The teenagers came under the suspicion of authorities when North Carolina police were contacted after a disturbance in a local shopping center. Both teens were detained while leaving the area after an alleged theft crime at a Target store.

It is reported that a breakfast biscuit and a controller to a video game was taken from the retailer. Police have now connected the two teens to other crimes that had occurred through surrounding neighborhoods. They are accused of breaking into homes and also unlawfully entering vehicles.

The 18-year-old has been charged with larceny of a vehicle, injury to personal property, three counts of breaking and entering vehicles and also three counts of larceny. The 17-year-old faces several theft crime charges including resisting an officer, multiple breaking and entering offenses and larceny of a vehicle. In all, the minor is facing 10 charges. Both boys have been jailed.

There are additional theft crime charges pending against the teenagers for their alleged role in other area break-ins. Both may need to mount a valid and relevant defense as they seek to fight the charges against them in a North Carolina court of law. The charges pending against them can bring hefty fines and a potentially lengthy jail term. As such, it is very important that they understand the significance of the charges as well as their legal rights. Doing so could only help them as they seek to refute the accusations they face and get their lives back to normal.
