Man faces drug charges after police search North Carolina home

A conviction on drug charges in the state of North Carolina can net someone a lengthy jail sentence. However, some types of drug operations can also endanger the health of the public and responding officers. Meth labs can be extremely dangerous to people and one man is accused of running one out of his home. The man is now facing a host of drug charges related to his alleged manufacturing facility.

Police believe the man was not only operating a meth lab, but also involved in an operation to grow marijuana. The 28-year-old man has since been arrested. He faces charges of manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and various other drug charges.

Authorities had received a tip about the man's property prior to his arrest. When the premises were searched, officers allegedly uncovered a small meth lab in the home. The man is now in jail on a $25,000 bond. It also possible he will face charges in connection with the meth lab in addition to the other charges.

Facing drug charges like this can be scary and difficult to deal with. While it is likely this accused man will have an uphill legal battle ahead of him, he is not without recourse. Understanding his legal rights could help him if he is required to mount a criminal defense. It is also important he understand the severity of the punishment that could be leveled against him if he is convicted. Being informed can help him as he seeks to fight the charges against him in a North Carolina court.
