North Carolina officer charged with driving under the influence

A North Carolina officer has been accused of driving under the influence after a traffic stop. Another officer apparently spotted the man's car traveling at a high rate of speed over railroad tracks. The vehicle bottomed out and the accused turned the vehicle left, but was swerving and driving erratically. The officer stopped the vehicle and the accused is now facing charges of driving under the influence.

During the early morning stop, authorities claimed to have found a duffle bag inside of the vehicle that was filled with cocaine. The officers stated the bag was 'in plain sight.' The 26-year-old man allegedly left a 2-year-old and an infant alone while he traveled to a local store. The criminal charges came after a concerned store clerk contacted 911 once he left the store.
