North Carolina man facing criminal charges after alleged rape

A North Carolina man is facing criminal charges after being accused of rape. Authorities believe the man broke into his ex-girlfriend's house and sexually assaulted her multiple times. He is now facing several criminal charges.

The woman involved says she received text messages from the man, claiming he could see who she let into her apartment. She looked out her windows but could not locate him. Once a male acquaintance left her apartment, she claims her ex-boyfriend forced his way into her home. The man allegedly broke into her bedroom with a knife and took her cell phone.

She stated he then grabbed her by the neck and pinned her to the bed. She claims she was raped while he held a gun to her head. The man allegedly told her if she told the police about the incident he would kill her. The couple was together for several months last year, but broke up after a while. He is now facing charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

A conviction on any of these North Carolina criminal charges could net the man a lengthy prison sentence. Unfortunately, he apparently has a lengthy prior criminal record. However, he is innocent unless and until proven guilty and may want to consider researching his legal options before he is due in court. Doing so could help him mount a relevant defense while preserving his legal rights as he fights to challenge the accusations against him.
