North Carolina accident leads to criminal charges against uncle

The death of a child can be a parent's worst nightmare. It can be even more difficult when a family member is blamed for it. A young child died after a North Carolina hunting accident, and his uncle is now facing criminal charges in connection with the death.

The child died while he was out hunting with the uncle, but the exact details surrounding what happened were not disclosed. However, authorities have arrested and charged the uncle with involuntary manslaughter. He is also facing charges after he reportedly gained his hunting license without meeting all the legal parameters. He is said to have failed to take a required course about hunter's education.

The accused man surrendered to authorities and will soon be required to answer to the charges against him. The tragedy apparently occurred on a hunting trip close to Wake Forest. No bail information was immediately available.

Hunting accidents are unfortunately more common than many people realize, and sometimes loved ones can become victims. Although the details are not yet apparent, the uncle will now be required to answer the criminal allegations concerning the untimely and tragic death of his nephew. As the details emerge, the man remains innocent in the eyes of the law unless, and only if, a prosecutor can prove each and every element of the crime charged in a North Carolina courtroom. There is a substantial difference between criminal charges and a criminal conviction, and the man is fully entitled to the benefit of the doubt unless prosecutors are able to meet their stringent burden in court.
