North Carolina gang members facing drug charges

North Carolina residents facing drug charges may not be aware of the best action to take. While there are several stories published in various media outlets about drug charges, it can at times be difficult for the public to know if the facts presented are complete. A recent arrest has left several individuals facing drug charges.

The individuals arrested are believed to all be members of the same gang. Thirteen were arrested and six others are still wanted. This particular gang is said to 'own' several blocks in the area and police stepped up their investigation into the situation following a number of complaints from local citizens. This gang purportedly practiced typical gang activity such as moving from house to house, which makes it more difficult for police to track down the actual drugs.

It was noted that more than three ounces of cocaine was found and seized on the property as well as four handguns. First degree criminal charges could result in 10 to 20 years in prison. Most of the arrested are facing drug charges as well as conspiracy charges. Each individual could be facing a different sentence. Prior charges or convictions could come into play as well the cases move forward, so it may be in each person's best interest to understand their rights.

Any North Carolina resident who finds themselves in a similar situation facing drug charges may want to investigate the applicable state law. Since each situation is handled on a case by case basis, every situation is different and therefore having a proper understanding of how to move forward could prove beneficial. With the proper knowledge on the best way to proceed, the accused can receive the best possible outcome.
