1 facing theft charges after allegedly breaking into four homes

Facing accusations of theft can be a stressful and challenging process, perhaps especially if the individual in question is currently on probation. The penalties for crimes such as theft increase in severity with each successive conviction. An 18-year-old man was recently arrested and is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into four homes in North Carolina.

According to police, the man allegedly broke into four homes on the same day and took a variety of items from each, including jewelry and electronics. He has also been accused of attempting to break into a fifth home. He was located and taken into custody several days later and is facing numerous charges in relation to the alleged incidents, including breaking and entering and larceny, the penalties of which may be more severe since he is reportedly on probation.

It is unclear how authorities came to suspect his involvement in each incident. When investigating multiple thefts, police may be under a great deal of pressure to make an arrest. Those who have a previous conviction on record may also be subjected to increased suspicion of wrong-doing, and if accused of similar crimes, they may find it beneficial to seek guidance on how to proceed.

With the potential weight of a conviction for crimes such as theft, an individual may wish to protect his or her future by challenging the charges. Those who face similar circumstances may choose to speak with a defense attorney for assistance in navigating the process. An attorney in North Carolina can assess the situation and provide a client with advice and assistance in pursuing the most favorable outcome possible.
