Being accused of involvement in a crime can be a stressful and challenging experience. Those who face charges such as theft and larceny may wish to prepare for what comes next by focusing on their defense, but they may require assistance in the process. A 35-year-old woman has recently been accused of larceny in relation to her alleged involvement in the theft of a trailer from her place of employment in North Carolina.
Authorities assert the incident began when a man came to her place of employment and requested the title to a trailer. According to another worker, he provided the tag for the trailer, but failed to produce a receipt of purchase. He allegedly claimed to have paid cash for the trailer and didn't receive a receipt, and after failing to obtain the title, he reportedly became angry and rushed out of the store.
Authorities proceeded to locate the man, and upon finding him at a local residence, allegedly discovered that his significant other was an employee at the store. They also claim to have located the trailer in question, along with other items that they believe might be stolen. According to reports, both the man and the employee are now facing charges in relation to the alleged theft of the trailer.
Individuals who face allegations of theft may wish to protect themselves by challenging the charges. Since this can be complex, a person in North Carolina could benefit from speaking with a defense attorney for advice on the best course of action to take moving forward. An attorney can work toward protecting a client's legal rights throughout the process and assist with any further proceedings associated with the charges.
