4 arrested on drug charges at residence near college campus

As a college student, being accused of a drug-related crime can be a scary and daunting experience. Students who face drug charges may have little to no experience in the area, and they might be unaware of their legal rights. Four individuals have recently been arrested following an investigation into possible drug activity at a townhouse near North Carolina State University.

The incident began when investigators arrested a student in relation to his alleged involvement in drug activity outside of a residence near a local college campus. Just three days later, authorities returned to the residence for unknown reasons and arrested three others for similar charges. Although it is unclear if authorities executed a search of the residence in question, they claim the investigation led to the discovery of a variety of types and amounts of illegal narcotics.

The nature of the information that led authorities to become suspicious of drug activity at the townhouse is unclear. All four individuals, three of which are reportedly students at the university, have been accused of using the residence to sell drugs. A conviction for similar charges carries serious penalties and could have a significant impact on the future of each party.

Individuals who are accused of drug charges may wish to protect themselves against potentially devastating consequences, but they might be uncertain how to achieve this goal. Since the criminal justice system can be complex, one may find it beneficial to seek guidance from an attorney as soon as the charges are filed. An attorney in North Carolina can work toward protecting a client's legal rights and assist in forming a strong defense for use during legal proceedings.
