A recent, large-scale study by Stanford University's Open Policing Project has found good evidence that African-American and Hispanic drivers are ticketed and subjected to vehicle searches at a higher rate than whites and that this is due to racial bias. Moreover, the effect does not appear limited to states with histories of discriminatory legislation.

Woman facing criminal charges after North Carolina chase

A woman involved in a high-speed chase is facing criminal charges after allegedly refusing to pull over. The woman is accused of telling North Carolina officers she would only pull over for cash. When she was finally stopped, she was arrested and is now facing a variety of criminal charges.

2 North Carolina men face drug charges

Two North Carolina residents are facing drug charges after a traffic stop. During the early morning stop, authorities claimed to have found a duffle bag inside of the vehicle that was filled with cocaine. The officers stated the bag was 'in plain sight.' The drug charges were filed against the two occupants of the vehicle after the stop.
