A woman accused of driving under the influence and causing a fatal pedestrian accident has recently pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. The North Carolina woman was reportedly high on drugs and texting while driving when she hit the 75-year-old pedestrian, causing her fatal injuries. In her plea deal, other charges -- including DWI -- were dropped.

Student accused of driving while impaired, killing two bystanders

Following a tragic car accident that killed two bystanders, a man was arrested under suspicion of hitting the two victims. The 21-year-old University of North Carolina Wilmington student faces multiple charges that include driving while impaired, death by motor vehicle and unspecified drug charges. The young man now must focus on his criminal defense against these accusations.
